The art of storytelling

Visitors carry a phone throughout their visit to your venue. The five senses of place turn it into a guide: the exhibit answers in their language, and the visit returns as a film for others.

The art of storytelling

Visitors do not remember display cases alone. They remember the exhibit that came to life.— Marcin Jamro, PhD, DSc, Eng.
Creator of Odoardo™ · entrepreneur, author, scientist and programmer

Do you care for collections that have more to say than any plaque can hold? Does the audio guide follow one route at one pace? Are there fewer guides than questions? Does the visitor from abroad leave without a story?

We built Odoardo™ for cultural institutions. An exhibit answers the visitor's question in their language and at their pace, by text or by voice. The visit goes home as a film that shows the institution to others. You decide what the collection says — the technology only carries your voice further. All our solutions are discreet enough never to draw attention from what matters most.

An exhibit that answers

A visitor brings a phone close and asks about the work, the period and the context — in any of dozens of languages.

“Why does this detail matter?”, “Who was the maker?”, “What was happening in Europe at the time?” — the most interesting questions come up in front of the display case, just when no guide is nearby.

Odoardo Soul™ lets the exhibit answer. A microchip hidden by the object opens a conversation on the visitor's phone: no app, no queue, in their language and at their pace, by text or by voice. You or your curators shape the story, and we carry it into the soul. So the soul says what you want said.

A visit that returns

From a visitor's shots we assemble a video postcard — so the visit travels on and promotes the venue.

Visitors photograph and film wherever you allow it. Yet those shots rarely find their way back to the institution. They often get lost on phones or go online without wider context.

Odoardo Lens™ guides the visitor to the best shots and assembles them into a video postcard carrying the institution's identity. The visitor shares the visit with family and friends, and the institution reaches potential visitors without posters or paid advertising.

The institution's address as a sign

An exclusive lease on an address that names a category — visible in print, online and in announcements.

Odoardo Space™ is a portfolio of premium addresses for lease. An address that names a category raises the institution's standing wherever it appears: on tickets, posters and invitations. We also help build personal brands with name domains.

Leasing instead of buying means a predictable monthly cost — without tying up funds the collections need more.

A gift for patrons

An oak case of conversation cards — a thank-you that lasts for years, not for a single gala.

Patrons, boards and partners of an institution deserve thanks that match the standing of the collections in your care. Flowers wilt and certificates end up in drawers, leaving no lasting memories or feelings behind.

Odoardo Alibi™ is a handmade solid oak case with black-and-gold cards that open a real conversation. In the bespoke edition it bears the institution's emblem and an engraving — a gift that stays on the desk for years.

Living art behind the scenes

Curated, signed art from around the world — changing every quarter.

The collections live in the exhibition halls, but visitors also spend time in the café, the lobby and the education area, and the team in the offices.

Odoardo Art™ brings signed works by artists into these spaces, exchanged every quarter. They sit in a handmade solid oak frame that can stand on a desk or hang on a wall. In this way the institution supports contemporary artists — in keeping with its mission — while building its own gallery.

Questions and answers

How do we start a conversation about implementation?

Describe your institution and its collections to the Odoardo™ concierge on this page. It will propose the scope of a first step. The configurators on each product page are worth a look too.

Can an exhibit's soul say things that contradict the curators' knowledge?

The institution prepares the content of the story. The soul answers on the basis of the materials it receives from you, and where there are none, it refers the visitor to your team.

Do visitors need an app to use Odoardo Soul™?

No. They simply bring a phone close — the conversation opens in the browser, with no installation and no sign-up. It can be held by text or by voice.

How many languages does a Odoardo Soul™ exhibit story support?

Dozens. Visitors ask in their own language and receive the answer in it.

Can an exhibit's story be changed after implementation?

Yes, at any time. You send the change to the Odoardo™ team through Odoardo ID™, and we make it for you free of charge. A new exhibition therefore does not need a new object. You can also move an object with its soul between exhibitions.

Does the soul remember visitors?

The soul remembers a name if the visitor chooses to give one, and the thread of the conversation. The “Forget me” button below the conversation erases that name and whatever the soul remembered about them, at any time. The institution is the controller of this data.

Who decides how the film of a visit is used?

The visitor. The institution may use the footage only with its maker's explicit consent. It can, however, block or delete any video postcard created within its walls.

How is each tool billed?

You buy the object once, and the service that brings it to life is a subscription: monthly for Odoardo Soul™ and Odoardo Lens™, quarterly for Odoardo Art™. Odoardo Space™ is an address lease with a monthly payment.
